The current workshop will explore the impact of the new reality of the legalization of cannabis in many states across the USA on the field of mental health. It will discuss the rise of usage among young adults and teens, and it’s wide-ranging effects on individuals. Different methods for treatment for compulsive use, as well as effects on relationships, will be explored, as well.

About the Presenter

Binyamin Tepfer PhD, CSAT, CMAT is the founding director of Arbor Intensives, an integrative IOP in Brooklyn NY, which specializes in the treatment of trauma, behavioral health, and emotional wellness. He also serves as a supervisor for the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals, while maintaining a private practice in Cedarhurst, Brooklyn, and Lakewood. Rachel Slochowsky is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, as well as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist and Certified Partner Trauma Therapist. She works at Tepfer and Associates, a group practice in Brooklyn and Cedarhurst, as well as Arbor Intensives. Rachel specializes in working with couples, betrayal trauma, and intimacy. Rachel has given lectures and trainings on marriage and healing from betrayal trauma.

15 min- overview of the chemical properties of marijuana.

30 min- Listing the effects of cannabis on the various parts of the brain

15 min- Approaches to recovery when usage becomes compulsive

25 min- the effects and repair when weed impacts relationships
