Day 1 Masterclass on Assessment and Intervention of Children & Adolescents with Autism

Day 1 (01/18/2022): This intensive one-day Master Class has been designed to increase participants’ knowledge and skills in the diagnostic assessment of children and adolescents with ASD Levels 1 and 2.  Participants will learn how to conduct a diagnostic assessment for a child or adolescents to determine whether that child is on the autism spectrum, including measurement of comorbidity, differential diagnosis, use of psychometric assessment, and both written and oral reporting or results to parents, teachers and the child.

 

Day 2 (01/19/2022): This intensive one-day Master Class has been designed to increase participants’ knowledge and skills in intervention with children and adolescents with ASD Levels 1 and 2.  Participants will learn best practice models for intervention with children and adolescents on the autism spectrum, including the use of CBT and mindfulness, individual and group therapy programs for depression, anxiety, and friendship, and classroom accommodations that help.

About the Presenter

Prof Tony Attwood PhD With a career spanning five decades, Professor Tony Attwood is considered to be one of the world’s foremost experts on Autism Spectrum Disorder. He has an Honour’s degree in Psychology from the University of Hull, a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Surrey and a PhD from the University of London. He is currently adjunct Professor at Griffith University in Queensland. Tony has written many publications on Asperger’s Syndrome. His original book, titled Asperger’s Syndrome: A Guide for Parents and Professionals was published in 1998 and has been translated into over 25 languages. Tony operates a diagnostic and psychological support clinic two days a week for children and adults. He also spends considerable time travelling nationally and internationally to present workshops and seminars.
